The Congress, evaluating the performance of the ruling TDP government after two years in office, has given it an ‘E’ grade.
Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee official spokesperson N. Tulasi Reddy said that though the government failed in all aspects, ‘E’ grade was the lowest available as per the grading system in place in the State.
At a press conference here on Tuesday, Mr. Tulasi Reddy said that the government fared very badly in five subjects: securing from centre the benefits listed in the A.P. Reorganisation Act; getting Special Category Status for the State; fulfilling promises made at the time of elections; implementing the five schemes signed by the Chief Minister on the first day and overall administration.
While the Act made provisions for benefits to the tune of Rs. 5 lakh crore from the Centre, the State government was able to get just Rs. 6,400 crore, which was about only one per cent. This was achieved in 40 per cent of the time the government had. Only one mark out of 100 could be given to the government on this count, he said.
The party gave zero marks for failing to secure SCS, five marks for implementing promises made in the manifesto and a few more marks for implementation of files that were signed on the first day.
It gave no marks for implementation of loan waiver.
The total score would be between 20 per cent and 25 per cent, and hence the ‘E’ grade.
“There is no ‘F’ grade in government schools,” Mr. Tulasi Reddy said.
Though it has failed in all aspects, that is the lowest grade available, says
