CM’s camp office to be ready by April

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s camp office at the Irrigation building in Governorpet here is likely to be ready by April.

The officials have taken up the renovation works to suit the requirements of the Chief Minister and his security. The works are going on at a brisk pace and are scheduled to be completed by March end, officials say.

A team of police officials from Hyderabad recently visited the Irrigation Superintending Engineer’s camp office. The City Police have already conducted the security audit of the CM’s proposed camp office and sent the report to the government. The police have beefed up security at the Irrigation Building even as the renovation works are going on. Citing security reasons, some of the wings of the Irrigation Department building have been asked to move out to different parts of the district.

When contacted, Irrigation Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao said that the camp office would be ready by April. Krishna Collector Babu A. too informed that the Chief Minister was slated to spend at least three days in a week in the camp office here from April on wards.

The Irrigation Minister already has a camp office in the Irrigation Building. Simialrly, Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas too have an office on the second floor of the Dr. N.T.R.University of Health Sciences.

The 75-year-old Officers Club in the close vicinity of the irrigation office is slated to be DGP’s office according to plan.

The DG, Fire Services Office, has already been shifted to the city. The government has constructed a swanky building for the Fire Services Department near the Police Control Room here.
