A sense of mental peace and inner happiness are necessary for humans to enhance their living standards, said Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday.
Addressing a public meeting after performing the ‘Bhoomi Pooja,’ for the Brahma Kumari’s Universal Peace Retreat Centre at Nekkallu village in Thullu mandal, Mr. Naidu hoped that the peace retreat centre would be developed into a world class centre.
Head of the mission, 103-year-old Janaki Dadiji, was present along with her followers.
Reminiscing about his earlier association with the mission, Mr. Naidu said the mission was given 34 acres in Hyderabad which had been developed as a ‘Santhi Sarovaram,’ and the upcoming peace centre at Amaravati would also be a model one in the world.
Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao said the new centre in the capital would usher in peace in the region. Ministers Ch. Ayanna Patrudu and Prathipati Pulla Rao spoke.
Dr. Janaki Dadiji in her address thanked the Chief Minister for giving 10 acres and promised that they would construct a world class institution in the region.
ZP chairperson Sk. Janimun, Collector Kona Sasidhar, Tadikonda MLA Tenali Sravan Kumar were present.
