Centre, State let down people, says Congress

: The Central and State governments have let down the people of Andhra Pradesh by not making efforts to obtain special status for the State, APCC vice-president Devineni Rajasekhar has said.

He was inaugurating the relay hunger strike camp organised by the party. It will continue till March 22. Former MLA and party city president Malladi Vishnu, District Congress Committee president Kadiyala Butchibabu said the party would not stop the agitation until special status was granted. Congress activists from Nandigama, Tiruvuru and Jaggayyapet participated in the relay fast on the first day. On Monday evening, Mr. Vishnu gave buttermilk to the participants, closing the camp for the day. Mr Vishnu said former IAS officer Koppula Raju would inaugurate the relay fast camp on Tuesday.
