Principal of N. St. Mathew’s Public School Bro. Pratap Reddy on Saturday said educational institutions could do proud to the nation by imparting ethics-based education.
Addressing students on the occasion of 64 Republic Day, he expressed grave concern over recent developments across the country and said inculcation of morality and ethics at a young age could help the nation produce a responsible generation of youth. He said parents, teachers and other sections had a pivotal role to play in the grooming process.
Later, he gave away prizes to outstanding students. This was followed by a cultural programme.
At Akshara International School, Ashok Nagar campus, Chairman K. Anil Kumar hoisted the national flag. Children sang patriotic songs. A group of students from classes 5 to 9 formed into the shape of Indian map amidst loud applause.
Mr. Anil Kumar said the school’s main focus was on moulding students into responsible citizens. This would enable them to contribute their mite to the nation-building exercise, he said.
A quiz on Indian Constitution, conducted under the guidance of head of the social department Sundar evoked wide-spread interest. Vice-Principal Lalitha and other staff members were present.
At Edify playschool, Dr. M. Subramanyam Chowdary, the chief guest on the occasion, called upon parents to take extra care about their children. “Parents must take upon themselves the task of passing on to the society well educated, refined and responsible citizens,” he emphasised.
He urged students to draw inspiration from freedom fighters and contribute their mite in creating a New India. Director M. Kranthi said children must be made to understand the significance of an independent India and the Republic Day at an early age.
At Mandal Parishad Primary School in Akunuru village, headmaster G.V. Suneel Babu hoisted the national tricolour.
K.B.J. Tilak, Deputy Manager of Indian Overseas Bank, Pamaru and the chief guest on the occasion, recalled the role of leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru in freedom struggle.
