Budding engineers told to focus on latest tech

Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU) Vice-Chancellor K. Viyyanna Rao has appealed to the budding engineers to focus on latest technology to withstand in the competitive world.

Mr. Rao was adressing the students and research scholars at the two-day seminar on ‘Advances in Metal Matrix Composites’, organised by the Mechanical Department of ANU College of Engineering and Technology, on the university campus on Thursday.

The Vice-Chancellor said that students should take China as a model which is emerging in technology utilisation in the world. RINL, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Executive Director S. Sreesha Kumar, NSTL DRDO Associate Director A.V.S. Chary, Engineering College principal E. Srinivas Reddy and others spoke.

Students and researchers from various colleges submitted papers on uses of light metal in defence and transportation wings. Dean M. Siddaiah, seminar convener M. Gopi Krishna, organising secretary Ch. Tirumala Rao and others participated.
