Guru is the one who leads a student from ignorance towards enlightenment. Walk with the Guru, he will lead you to wisdom; remember and honour all your gurus on this occasion of Guru Purnima, said former Principal of Korukonda Sainik School NCS Rao. Addressing the students of KCP Siddhartha School at Kanuru on the occasion of Guru Purnima,, he threw light on the origin of education since the ancient age and its evolution over the years. Mr. Rao said in the olden days, purnima was considered as one of the units to measure time. Successive Purnimas remind the number of years a disciple has spent with the guru in his ashram. Referring to the mix of students from all backgrounds on the school campus, he said it was a healthy trend as the young learners would be exposed to different cultures. Referring to the occasion of Buddha Purnima, he said Buddha’s teaching were relevant any day and worth emulating by all, especially the student community.

School principal K. Bhavanarayana recalled the various methods followed by gurus of the past referring to the child treatise Panch atantra, the work of Vishnu Sarma, the epic guru.

School staff, parents and the students participated in the programme.
