The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has appointed two private agencies for collecting dues from customers of closed telephones, public telephones, WLL, mobile, broadband and leased circuits.
K.S.V.D. Prasad of M/s Sri Lakshmi Durga Agencies located in Vemurivari street in Suryaraopet and K.A.V.Y. Narasimacharyulu of Mylavaram have been appointed agents of the BSNL. While Mr. Prasad would cover areas in Vijayawada urban and sub-urban areas falling under the Vijayawada short distance calling area (SDCA), Mr. Narasimhacharyulu would cover all the rural areas under Mylavaram, Nuzvid and Tiruvur SDCAs.
These agencies are authorised to collect the dues in the form of cheques or demand drafts only. The collecting agency would issue a temporary receipt and the BSNL would issue a permanent receipt after realisation of the cheque/DD.
Cash should not be paid to the agencies, and the BSNL would not be responsible for any such cash transaction and the customers were requested to pay their dues after ascertaining the identity of the collection agent, according to a press release.
