Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president Botcha Satyanarayana will make a two-day visit to the city on September 2.
Krishna district Congress Committee in-charge president Naraharisetti Narasimha Rao addressing a press conference at the Andhra Ratna Bhavan here on Tuesday said the PCC president would participate in the second death anniversary of former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy to be observed in a big way in the city on September 2.
Mr. Satyanaryana will spend the night in the city and address a joint meeting of the District Congress Committee and the Vijayawada Congress Committee on September 3, Mr. Rao said.
Charges flayed
Mr. Rao along with City Congress president Pyla Sominaidu condemned the allegations made by YSR Congress leaders Jaleel Khan and P. Gowtham Reddy against Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal.
The Congress leaders said Mr. Jaleel Khan and Mr. Gowtham Reddy were making these “sensational statements” because their leader Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy was touring the district.
The way Mr Khan and Mr Reddy ‘chummed up' to Mr Rajagopal when they were in the Congress was known to everyone, they said.
Mr Narasimha Rao said if Y.S.Jagan Mohan Reddy had any self respect he would remove his father's name and picture and replace them with his own because Dr Reddy was a leader completely committed to the Congress party.
He said if Mr Jagan was innocent as he claimed he would not have gone to the Supreme Court against CBI inquiry.
