Bifurcation of A.P. Telecom Circle nearing completion

The Office of Chief General Manager (CGM) of Andhra Pradesh Telecom Circle of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) will start functioning from Vijayawada soon following the creation of Telangana Telecom Circle and posting of the respective CGMs. A.P. Telecom Circle CGM K. Damodar Rao, who assumed office recently, will start discharging his duties from Vijayawada, pending reorganisation of the unified telecom circle that was headquartered in Hyderabad.

Orders on sharing of the core infrastructure and civil, electrical, and architecture facilities are expected to be issued soon.

The heads of Secondary Switching Areas (telecom districts) have been instructed to report to the CGM in Vijayawada with effect from August 1.

The SSAs that fall in the jurisdiction of the A.P. Telecom Circle are: Anantapur, Chittoor (Tirupati), Eluru (West Godavari), Guntur, Kadapa, Kurnool, Nellore, Ongole (Prakasam), Rajahmundry (East Godavari), Srikakulam, Vijayawada (Krishna), Visakhapatnam, and Vizianagaram.

The Telangana SSAs are Adilabad, Hyderabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, Mahabubnagar, Medak (Sangareddy), Nalgonda, and Warangal.
