BGL to spend Rs. 500 cr. on CNG, supply infrastructure

With the new gas discoveries the availability of gas in the country has doubled, says PNGRB chairman

L. Mansingh, chairman of Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB), Government of India, has said that the Bhagyanagar Gas Ltd (BGL) will have to develop infrastructure worth Rs. 500 crore in the city the next five years for supply of compressed natural gas (CNG), piped natural gas (PNG) for domestic users and other products. Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, Mr. Mansingh said that with the new gas discoveries in the KG basin, the availability of gas had doubled in the country and Vijayawada had the advantage of receiving CNG at a cheaper price.
