April 02, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:52 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

All India OBC Railway Employees’ Federation (AIOBCREF) joint general secretary B.V.N. Satyanarayana cautioned youth aspiring to join the Railways as apprentices against being fleeced by touts.

Mr. Satyanarayana on Wednesday said the Railway Recruitment Control Board had extended the deadline for submitting applications to April 10 from March 31 conceding to the Federation’s request.

Interested candidates should ensure that their application forms were in the same format as prescribed by the Railway Recruitment Cell. Applications could be sent through employment exchanges and ITIs. “The talk that apprentice posts are limited to children of railway staff is a rumour. Candidates should realise that the recruitment is made through a written test and not in through any other means.
