The single-piece gray knee-length gown that hugged her slender frame grabbed curious glances from the onlookers.
When she stepped out of a sleek car at an institute in Patamata on a Sunday, people gazed at her persona and her classy demeanour perfectly matched with a celebrity’s body language.
Very few among the crowd could figure out that the beauty descending at the venue was none other than Prachi Mishra, the Femina Miss India Earth 2012.
The beauty queen was in the city to inaugurate International Institute of Fashion Design. After the formal inaugural, she interacted with a group of students and the guests at the venue.
Citing her own example, she said nobody was born talented. “We must identify our inner strength and hone our skills in the area we wish to pursue as our career,” said Allahabad’s first beauty queen. An ecstatic win following gruelling practice sessions that forced her to keep at bay many things that she otherwise would have enjoyed doing, has only apparently added to the confidence quotient of this beauty queen.
The beauty queen said there was no dearth of opportunities in the fashion industry. “The fashion industry presents a vast scope. All you need to do is to think out of the box to make a mark in any given field,” she urged.
The institute offers a one-year and a two-year diploma courses besides a three-year degree course and MBA. Besides, it has also introduced textile fashion and interior design in tie-up with IMB University in Milan and Anna Malai University in Tamil Nadu. Director of the institute Anjani Ramesh said the degree course certificate would be awarded by the Milan University while Anna Malai University would certify diploma courses.
