Telugu Desam Party President Nara Chandrababu Naidu left no stone unturned to attract an enthusiastic group of women entrepreneurs from Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of Andhra Pradesh (ALEAP) here in Gannavarama mandal of Krishna District during his ‘Telugu Jathi Atma Gaurava Yatra’ on Saturday.

Attacking the Congress Government he said that it was not in a position to protect the respect of women.

The increase in number of rapes justifies his statement, he said. Citing the recent judgement in the Nirbhaya gang-rape case he questioned, if three-year jail term was justified, though the perpetrator of the crime was a juvenile.

Such criminals should have received death sentence to deter others from resorting to attacks on women. The Opposition leader highlighting his achievements during his nine year rule, said that whether it was he or the founder of the party NTR, they always focused on women empowerment. “The DWCRA was my brainchild,” he asserted.

Going back to his patent CEO style, he said, “We always emphasised on knowledge state and that was one reason why Hyderabad could become the IT hub. While it took 50 years to build Singapore, we took just nine years to build Hyderabad or Cyberabad.”

He said that education was his priority. Today, there were about 700 engineering colleges in the State but the growth was initiated by him, he observed. During my time over 350 engineering colleges had started, he added.

India was not only the biggest but also the youngest democracy in the world. Not giving a clear stand on Samaikyandhra, he said, AP was among the top three states during his tenure, but today both the Congress and the YSRC had pulled it down, he alleged.

Earlier, K. Ramadevi of ALEAP, took the opportunity to remind the TDP supremo that the foundation stone of the facility was laid by him during his tenure as CM.

She pointed out the problems such as high interest rates and lack of cheap resources that the women entrepreneurs have been facing. To which, Mr.Chandrababu assured to settle the issues once elected back to power.
