Automobile industry is facing lack of quality salesmen. Though industry giants pump in money to promote their products, they are unable to find quality salesmen, who can sell their vehicles.

Keeping this in view, Mahavir Motors, Hyderabad in association with a couple of industry experts, launched Global Academy of Automotive Retail Excellence (GAARE) to conduct six-month course for graduates, who wish make a career in automobile sales.

The Advanced Diploma in Automotive Retail Sales will be conducted at GAARE campus in Pune and the course curriculum includes automotive technology, persuasive communication, the art of selling, personality development, customer relationship management and sales business management, said Yashwant Jhabakh, Chief Mentor, GAARE.

“Though the student intake capacity is 800, this year we are confining to 150 and of these we expect to 60 to join from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Course fee is Rs.1.20 lakh and students, who complete the course successfully, will be absorbed by automobile dealers across the country,” he said at a press conference here on Tuesday.

There is a requirement of 15,000 quality salesmen across the country and unfortunately there are not many around.

All those presently working hail from different fields and this course would produce salesmen, who have thorough knowledge about the industry, he added.

The course is approved by Automotive Skills Development Council, New Delhi and Business English certification would be provided by University of Cambridge in arrangement with British Council, Mumbai, he claimed.
