The Business Advisory Committee (BAC), which met under the chairmanship of Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao, on Friday decided that the House should sit for 10 working days till November 25.
The BAC decided to take a break for two days in view of the ‘AgTech Summit’ to be organised in Visakhapatnam on November 16 and 17.
With this, the session will have 10 working days, from November 10 to November 25, with six holidays in between, including Saturdays and Sundays.
The Assembly will take up discussion on 27 issues. It has also decided to take up a discussion on the Pattiseema project. The TDP’s ally, the BJP, has proposed discussion on 15 subjects.
Information and Public Relations Minister Kalava Srinivasulu said it was unfortunate that the Opposition party was not participating in the discussions that were aimed at solving the people’s problems.
“In a democracy, the government and the legislature do not function only for the opposition parties. They function for the welfare of the people and development of the State. Even if there is no Opposition in the House, fruitful discussions would take place. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has suggested to the MLAs to make use of the Assembly as a forum to raise the issues concerning their constituencies,” the Minister said.
