Krishna district in charge Collector Gaurav Uppal on Friday said medical camps would be organised across the district from Saturday under Rajiv Arogyasri scheme.

He said that the objective of conducting these camps was to extend latest medical facilities to the economically backward sections, who could not afford treatment in corporate hospitals.

Free treatment was being extended for 938 diseases under the scheme, he added. For 125 specific ailments, patients would be given free medicines for a year.

Experts from various disciplines working in corporate hospitals would visit the camps to examine patients.
