Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao said India was perceived by Americans as their sixth favourite nation. As per the Gallup’s annual world affairs survey, 71 per cent of the Americans viewed India favourably in 2015.

Speaking at the 240th American Independence Day celebrations organised by the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC)-A.P and TS at Hyderabad on Saturday, Mr. Sivaprasada Rao said the American Telugu Association had recently convinced the Governor of Maryland to accept A.P. as a sister State with which to conduct business. He hoped that IACC would further strengthen its interaction with like-minded organizations so that the India-US collaborative economic agenda includes co-production and co-development under the Make-in-India programme.

He also wished that the visa issues in the IT and ITES sector are addressed. US Consul General Michael Mullins promised to extend all possible cooperation to A.P and India in their endeavours.
