ANU expert team tostudy pipeline blast

A team of professors from Acharya Nagarjuna University have been deputed to identify the causes behind the gas pipeline blast at Nagaram village in Mamidikuduru mandal in East Godavari district.

Vice-Chancellor K. Viyanna Rao formed a committee headed by Professor of Geology P. Sankara Pitchaiah, to find out reasons and suggest remedial measures to prevent such ghastly accidents.

The committee consisted of Professor of Economics M. Koteswara Rao, Professor of Sociology and Social Work Saraswati Raju Iyer, Ravi Sankar Reddy from Pharmacy College, T.V.S. Varalakshmi from Department of Civil Engineering.

“We feel it is our social responsibility to take up a scientific study utilising our resources. The team of experts will study the incident and submit a detailed report to Governments of Andhra Pradesh and India for taking necessary follow-up action,'' the Vice-Chancellor said.
