The nine Left parties have demanded that the State government announce a clear roadmap on the location of the new capital for Andhra Pradesh incorporating details about the offices of various departments.
The parties wanted the government to come out with special packages for the backward Rayalaseema and North Coastal Andhra regions along with the roadmap.
A meeting of the nine Left parties attended among others by CPI State secretary K. Ramakrishna and his CPI (M) counterpart P. Madhu on Monday expressed concern over the inordinate delays in implementation of the promises made by the ruling Telugu Desam Party including debt waiver, fee reimbursement and location of capital for the new State.
The indecision on the part of the government had put the sections into a state of confusion.
The Left parties alleged that the government had intensified efforts to curtail the benefits of the loan waiver scheme to sections of farmers as was evident from the different statements being issued by the Ministers on the issue.
As a result, farmers could not secure fresh loans in spite of the prevailing drought like situation. The same was the case with DWCRA groups that were faced with notices served by the banks for repayment of dues in spite of an assurance by the government to waive their loans.
The Left parties charged the Telugu Desam Party government with adopting “undemocratic” methods in the elected bodies where public representatives were offered allurements.
