Andhra University 8th best in the country, says survey

July 07, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 12:56 pm IST - VIJAYAWADA:

Andhra University (AU), Visakahpatnam, has been ranked second among State Universities and eighth among all universities in the country by Nielsen survey, which was conducted in association with a leading magazine.

Andhra University has also bagged the 8th spot among all universities in India including State, Central and Deemed Universities. The parameters for rankings are 50 per cent weightage to factual data, while the rest of the 50 per cent weightage is assigned to perceptual data.

Though A.U was only second to Delhi University, it was the table-topper, in terms of factual data, it claimed the 8th spot due to a lower perceptual score.

The strong performance in terms of factual data highlights the university’s quality in terms of faculty, academic inputs and research publications.

However, plans are under way to improve AU’s perception.
