With the Central government showing no signs of even slowing down the process of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, the Seemandhra Advocates’ JAC has called for ‘Samaikya Sankharavam’ here on Thursday as a part of the last-ditch efforts to scuttle attempts being made for dividing the State purportedly on partisan grounds.
Advocates from 13 districts in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema were invited for the meeting scheduled to begin at Potti Sriramulu Sabha Pranganam near the City Civil Courts around 10 a.m. to mount pressure on the Congress-led UPA Government to desist from going ahead with bifurcation.
APNGOs’ Association president P. Ashok Babu and leaders of various Joint Action Committees will come together for charting the future course of action against the backdrop of the renewed vigour with which the Centre is carrying the process of bifurcation forward.
ResolveBezawada Bar Association President and Seemandhra Advocates’ JAC convener M. Jayakar reiterated opposition to the bifurcation and warned that people would not tolerate the injustice being meted out by the Congress party which, he said, had no compunction in creating a rift among them for political gains.
The advocates’ JAC has recently expressed its resolve to intensify the agitation if the Telangana Bill is moved in the Parliament and it came to the Assembly for ‘knowing the opinion of the House’ and they would extend full support to whatever action is required to thwart the evil designs behind bifurcation. The Central government had to bear the consequences of its actions which lacked rationale, the JAC asserted.
