Action plan prepared to double marine trade: Minister

Excise and B.C. Welfare Minister Kollu Ravindra on Sunday said that the government has prepared an action plan to boost the marine exports as well as domestic market in the State.

Addressing the members of the Krishna district Zilla Parishad and officials at the first ZP general body meeting here, Mr. Ravindra said that turnover of the marine trade, including exports of marine fish in Andhra Pradesh, was estimated to be above Rs. 4,000 crore in the financial year 2013-14.

“Steps will be taken to double the marine trade from Rs. 4,000 crore to Rs. 8,000 crore. Action plans have been prepared to achieve the goal,” said Mr. Ravindra.
