Road project shelved

It’s official. The State government has withdrawn the controversial road project that falls in the Krishna Wildlife Sanctuary in Koduru mandal in Krishna district.

The 1.5-km road between Dolphin house and Sagara Sangamam has been a bone of contention between the Forest Department and Krishna District Collector Babu. A.

Though the district authorities attempted to lay the road for the Krishna Pushkarams 2016, The project had to be temporarily stopped by the State government following the guidelines issued by the High Court. Meanwhile, the government issued an order on Friday cancelling the road project for which Rs. 1.5 crore was allocated.
