Participants in a national workshop on ‘Understanding 5G: Perspectives on future technological advancements in wireless communication’ organised here on Saturday deliberated on the rapid changes taking place in the world of telecommunications and Internet.
The event was held at Potti Sriramulu Chalavadi Mallikarjuna Rao College of Engineering and Technology (PSCMRCET).
According to a press release, the implementation of standards under a 5G (5th generation mobile networks) umbrella is likely to take a final shape around the year 2020 and that 5G is not yet an official term used for a particular set of mobile communication networks.
