37 Assistant Public Prosecutors appointed

The Directorate of Prosecutions of Andhra Pradesh has appointed 37 Assistant Public Prosecutors (APPs) in Judicial First Class Magistrate Courts in four zones of the State on March 20. They will be taking charge within 30 days of that date.

According to Deputy Director of Prosecutions (Krishna district) B. Ramakoteswara Rao, the services of APPs will be governed by A.P. State Prosecutions Service Rules, 1992, A.P. State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1996 and A.P. Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1964. Their appointments have been notified under Sec. 25 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973.

The APPs have been instructed to submit their property statements to the Deputy Directors of Prosecution concerned and complete other formalities.

Five APPs were appointed in Guntur district followed by Chittoor, Kadapa and West Godavari (four each), East Godavari, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram (three each), Anantapur, Krishna, Nellore, Prakasam and Visakhapatnam (two each) and Kurnool (one).
