The Tiruchi chapter of the Young Indians (Yi) of the Confederation of Indian Industry, Tiruchi zone, would host the second edition of ‘YUtry 2016,’ a national conference on entrepreneurship in the city on January 22 and 23.
The conference strives to stimulate the entrepreneurial spirit among youth through interaction with legends. About 250 delegates from across the country are expected to participate in the conference.
The highlight of the conference would be a Start up Competition, ‘Sharpen Your Saw', designed to ignite entrepreneurial spark in young minds and enable students to discover their entrepreneurial potential.
“We endeavour to engage youth voice in solving social problems by applying business practices. The aim of the programme is to equip youth with the right entrepreneurial skill set, mindset and toolset,” said R.A. Krishnakumar, chairman, CII, Tiruchi zone, and B.Ponnambalam, chair, Yi, Tiruchi chapter, in a release.
At the end of day 2, students shall have the choice and the opportunity to craft and pitch a business plan for subsequent incubation. The conference would feature mentoring sessions on germination of ideas, business plan formulation, business plan competition and learning from competition.
