Young advocates should respect their seniors and follow their guidance to enrich their legal knowledge and succeed in their career, Justice F.M.Ibrahim Kalifulla, Judge, Supreme Court of India, said on Tuesday.
Junior advocates should follow the path of their seniors who should tutor them the nuances of the legal profession, Justice Ibrahim Kalifulla said at a function organised here to felicitate him on his elevation to the Supreme Court and to honour senior advocates who had completed 50 years of outstanding service in legal profession. The function was organised by the Tiruchi Bar Association.
Senior advocates must orient the juniors on presentation methods before the court, he said. Observing that the last resort of the public to get their grievances redressed was the court, Justice Ibrahim Kalifulla said that everyone shares the responsibility in maintaining the respect and image of the judiciary.
It is the court which finally provides relief to the aggrieved public; he said adding that the court was a panacea. Those in the legal profession should never encourage or put up with comments that disrespect the judiciary, he said. Justice Ibrahim Kalifulla extolled the senior advocates for their outstanding service in legal profession.
Justice B.Rajendran, Judge, Madras High Court, P.Velmurugan, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Tiruchi, senior advocate M.Gandhimathinathan and Tiruchi Bar Association president A.Murugesan offered felicitations.
Six senior advocates–M.Meenakshi Sundaram, R.Kannan, M.R.Kumarasamy, V.Chakrapani, N.Subbiah and D.Stanislaus–who had completed 50 years of outstanding service in legal profession were honoured on the occasion.
