Close on the heels of the sanction of Rs.50 lakh by Tiruchi MP P.Kumar from his MP’s Local Area Development Fund for improving the walkers track around the Anna Stadium in the city, the Corporation carried out a cleaning drive to rid the track of bushes and wild growth.

A large number of Corporation workers were deployed to clean up the track, which had been lying in neglect for some time now.

The district authorities plan to take up comprehensive development of the facility. The track would be developed with paved walkway and landscape.

Mr.Kumar has also assured to sanction more funds from the MPLAD scheme if required.
