Two-day conference on diabetes

A two-day professional diabetic conference will be held this weekend to enable medical practitioners in the city to stay abreast of latest developments in diabetology . The second annual conference arranged by the Diabetes Club of Tiruchi (DCT) will have sessions addressed by 12 eminent speakers from South India.

Around 300 delegates are expected to participate, according to a release issued by N.S.Prasad, organising secretary of the DCT. The diabetes club of Tiruchi was founded with the objective of enriching knowledge of medical fraternity in the district with diabetes treatment. A host of pertinent issues including impact of diabetes on lung, associated risk with cancer, cardio vascular diseases will be discussed. Diabetes in young people and relation of disorder with weight loss would also be dwelt on. The conference is slated for February 18 and 19 at Hotel Sangam
