June 16, 2013 01:34 pm | Updated 01:34 pm IST - TIRUCHI:

The Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary Post Graduate Teachers’ Association urged the government to conduct a second counselling for the 900 posts that have come up following the upgrade 100 schools as higher secondary schools recently.

A resolution to this effect was adopted at the district general body meeting of the association held here recently. Another resolution urged the government to regularise the services of teachers nominated on consolidated pay scale between 2004 and 2006.

The government order No. 720 has been affecting the promotion opportunities of higher secondary PG teachers for the past 33 years, the meeting pointed out and pleaded with the government to introduce suitable amendment to the GO with immediate effect.

The teachers employed in the same school for many years could not get transfer easily. To ensure that such teachers get transfer without any difficulty, the government should bring amendment in the transfer rules of teachers that those who got transfer on priority basis could seek transfer again only after two years.

The science practical examination book brought out by the Tamil Nadu Parent-Teachers Association for the benefit of the Plus One and Plus Two students should be distributed to all the students free of cost, another resolution said.

Victor Joseph, state vice-president of the association, presided. S. Antony Anbarasu, district president and Anbu Sekaran, district secretary, spoke.
