Cadre of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi staged demonstrations in Tiruchi and Ariyalur on Friday condemning the Central government’s decision imposing restrictions on sale of cattle for slaughter. The demonstration in Tiruchi was held at two places – one near the Collectorate and the other near the Central Bus Stand.

VCK cadre and the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) staged a demonstrations here on Friday. The VCK cadre raised slogans denouncing the Centre’s regulations. Thanjavur Central district party secretary Chokka Ravi led the demonstration in which Assembly constituency secretary Kathiravan and others participated. At the SDPI demonstration, members alleged that the move was against a particular religion. They demanded immediate repeal of the restrictions. SDPI district general secretary J. Haji Sheikh led the demonstration in which Manithaneya Jananayaka Katchi, Indian Union Muslim League members and others participated.
