Salem district joint toppers

Two students – G. Aparna of Malco Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Mettur Dam and S. Abirami of Golden Gates Matriculation Higher School, Salem – secured 1,189 marks each to be the joint toppers in Salem district.

While Aparna had secured centum in four subjects – Economics, Commerce, Accountancy and Business Maths; Abirami got centum in three subjects Economics, Commerce and Accountancy.

Aparna, daughter of Ganesan, assistant executive engineer in Mettur Thermal Power Station and Shanmugasundari, government school teacher, evinces interest in pursuing CA course.

Abirami, daughter of Sundar, a realtor, too wants to pursue CA. Abirami is a good tennis player and has won many awards in the state level tournaments.

Topper ranks

Both Aparna and Abirami were eying for a state rank, but had to be satisfied with district topper ranks.

K. Vijendran of Malco Vidyalaya Matriculation HSS, Mettur Dam and C. Saarumathi of Bharathiyar HSS, Attur finished joint district second with a marks tally of 1,188 each. Vijendran managed centum in Commerce, Accountancy and Business Maths and Sarumathi managed centum in Chemistry and Biology.

Mohankumar (G. V. HSS, Masilapalayam) and V. Deksha (Bharathiyar HSS, Attur) tallying 1,185 each are the joint district third.

Among the students of Government schools, E. Sudha of Municipal Girls HSS, Salem with 1,159 marks was the district topper. She got centum in Economics, Commerce and Accountancy. R. Reshma (Government Girls HSS, Salem) and D. Monisha (MNS Government Girls HSS, Attayampatti), finished district second and third by aggregating 1,158 and 1,148 respectively.

S. Nandhini of Sri Sarada Vidyalaya Girls HSS, Salem (1,166 marks), Shivani Sunder (1,160) and R. Baladhinesh of The Little Flower HSS, Salem (1,156) won the first three places in the district among the students of aided schools.

E. Anupriya of Cluny Matriculation HSS in the city secured 1,187 to be the district topper with French as the first language.

The District Collector D. Karthikeyan felicitated all the district toppers in the presence of A. Gnana Gowri, Chief Educational Officer, and gave away awards to them.
