Rs. 1.10 incentive per litre of milk by Tiruchi Aavin

The Tiruchi District Cooperative Milk Producers Union (Aavin) will provide an incentive of Rs. 1.10 a litre for the milk supplied by the primary milk producers’ cooperative societies in 2012-13.

The incentive was being provided from the union’s profit for the year. About 750 primary societies under the union will get Rs. 4.92 crore as incentive as per the decision. The incentive will be disbursed to societies soon, according to a release from Collector Jayashree Muralidharan. Ms. Muralidharan disclosed that the union had procured about 1,255 tonnes of green fodder at a cost of Rs. 37.65 lakh and distributed it to milk cooperative society members at 50 per cent subsidy. About 4,444.20 tonnes of fodder and 34.47 tonnes of mineral mixture had been supplied to the societies.
