A group of narikuravas from Devarayaneri near here submitted a petition to District Collector Jayashree Muralidharan on Monday, pleading for immediate repair and maintenance of their houses constructed decades ago. They complained that the houses were in a dilapidated condition and safety to their life was at stake. The badly damaged ceilings were another problem in the area, they said. They pointed out that though they had been submitting petitions to the district administration for the past three years, nothing concrete had materialised.

They submitted a copy of photographs of their houses.
