S. Asokan, Chief Engineer, Public Works Department, Tiruchi region, on Saturday inspected the repair and maintenance works carried out at the Upper Anicut (Mukkombu).
He inspected the repair of the shutters across the Coleroon at the Upper Anicut being carried out at a cost of Rs. 10 crore with assistance from the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development. Fifty shutters are being repaired and are being provided with electric motors for being operated with power.
He inspected the maintenance works on the regulator across the Cauvery.
