Platinum jubilee of Hindi Prachar Sabha celebrated

Distribution of certificates to new pracharaks marked the platinum jubilee celebrations of the Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha here on Sunday. S.Arunachalam, first vice president of the sabha, presided over the function.

B. Chinnaiyan, treasurer of the sabha, explained the growth of the sabha since its inception in 1936 and he distributed certificates to the new pracharaks at the function.

S. Ravindran, second vice president of the sabha, C.N.V. Annamalai, general secretary, Central Sabha of Chennai, explained the various measures taken up by the Sabha for the promotion of Hindi among the common people.

B. Chinnaiyan, treasurer, presided over the second session. R. Ramasubbu, Associate Editor, 'Dinamalar', who delivered the keynote address, explained the importance of learning Hindi. V.S. Radhakrishnan, former general secretary of the sabha, briefed about the past history of the sabha.
