The Department of Posts will host a district philatelic exhibition in the city on November 14 and 15.
The exhibition would seek to promote the hobby of stamp collection, especially among students and it would be non-competitive, K. Raveendran, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Tiruchi Division, said in a release. Students and philatelists from Tiruchi district and Ariyalur, Senthurai, and Udayarpalayam taluks of Tiruchi Post Divisional can participate.
A variety of stamps would be on display at the exhibition. School and college students could visit the exhibition, he said.
A quiz for students, design a stamp contest, and a workshop on philately were planned as part of the event. The “My Stamp” facility offered by the department would be introduced in Tiruchi.
Special commemorative covers would be released along with a special cancellation. Organisations which want to commemorate their anniversaries or any other special occasion can utilise the opportunity to release special covers.
