Parents told to keep tabs on children’s phone usage

Awareness programmes to be held in colleges

The police and district administration have urged parents to keep a tab on their children’s mobile phone and Internet usage.

aghava Rao told reporters that awareness programmes would be held in all colleges to urge the students to keep themselves away from the ‘killer’ game. Besides, parents had the responsibility to watch what their children were doing with their mobile phones and computers.

Commissioner of Police Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal said the administrator of the game, through a series of tasks, would take psychological control of the victims and incite them to commit suicide. Parents to keep a close watch on the online activities of the children and also offline behaviour. Children must spend time on outdoor games with friends and families and not get influenced by such games. The police would extend all help. They could be contracted on 0452 2346302, he said.

Superintendent of Police N. Manivannan said people could also provide information about suspects who played Blue Whale game. The police would give them counselling, he said.
