Over 11,000 officials, teachers for poll duty in Tiruchi

About 11,410 government officials and school and college teachers will be deployed for poll duty in Tiruchi district for the Lok Sabha elections.

On Saturday, the presiding officers and polling officers were selected from the list compiled by the district administration through computerised randomisation in the presence of District Collector Jayashree Muralidharan and Expenditure Observer Shivprakash V.Baddi.

After training, the second and third rounds of randomisation would be carried out to determine the Assembly segments and the polling stations where the officers would be deployed.

The first phase of training for poll officials would be conducted on April 3 and 5, Collector Jayashree Muralidharan said in a press release.
