D. Raja, national secretary of Communist Party of India (CPI), on Saturday urged the people to ensure the defeat of the “corrupt” Congress and “communal” Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Lok Sabha election.
He told presspersons that the people had decided to throw corrupt Congress-led Government at the Centre out of power, for the failure of the UPA regime to check corruption, unemployment, and price rise in the country. “With respect to economic policies both the Congress and the BJP are the same,” he said.
The AIADMK and the DMK were not criticising the communal politics of Narendra Modi. An impression was being created in Tamil Nadu that the BJP-led alliance was strong. It was not so.
The Left parties would be the deciding factor for victory in this election.
The Left parties would certainly bring about a change in politics in Tamil Nadu.
Only the Left parties had been demanding a separate ministry for the welfare of fishermen in the country. “Now, the BJP is talking about it as if it is their policy”, Mr. Raja said.
