The final polling figure recorded in the district stood at 81.55 per cent as a total of 11,01,120 electors had cast their votes on Monday.
A total of 5,40,369 men, 5,60,707 women and 44 transgenders had cast their votes in all the six assembly constituencies for which polling was held on Monday. All the electronic voting machines (EVMs) were kept in the strong room and sealed at Vivekananda Educational Institutions at Tiruchengode and three-tier security was in place on the premises. Counting of votes would be held on May 19. District Election Officer and Collector V. Dakshinamoorthy inspected the strong room and security arrangements on Tuesday.
