Medical camps on June 22 and 23

For persons with cleft lip and palate

Special medical camps for persons with cleft lip and palate would be held in Tiruchi, Manapparai, Musiri and Lalgudi on June 22 and 23.

The free medical camps were being organised in association with the Meenakshi Mission Hospital, Madurai, by the Integrated Child Development Scheme, the District Differently-Abled Welfare Office and the Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Collector (in-charge) V. Dakshinamurthy said in a press release.

The camps would be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 22 at ICDS Project Office at Chinnakadai Veedhi in Manapparai and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the same day at the ICDS Project Office located at the old Revenue Divisional Office complex at Musiri.

On June 23, the camp would be held from 9.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Anganwadi at Chinna Milaguparai in Tiruchi and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the ICDS Project Office at VOC Nagar in Angarai in Lalgudi union.

Patients would be screened by leading plastic surgeons, including Dr. N. Panchavarnam. Plastic surgeries would be performed free of cost on identified patients at the Meenkashi Mission Hospital at Madurai. The identified patients would also be provided free transport, boarding and lodging and medicines. Patients with cleft lip and palate, in the age group of zero-40, can attend the camps, Mr.Dakshinamurthy said and appealed to such persons to utilise the camps to get proper treatment.
