ITI student stabbed after football match

The victim was assaulted by a group of youth on Thursday night during a fight that broke out during a game of football at Woraiyur recently.

An ITI student was stabbed and assaulted by a group of youth here on Thursday night during a fight that broke out during a game of football at Woraiyur here recently.

The injured S. Faizal (23), who sustained wounds, was undergoing treatment at the Mahatma Gandhi Government Hospital here.

Police sources said a quarrel broke out between Faizal and Devendran, a Plus Two student, during a football game held a few days ago.

Devendran allegedly assaulted Faizal’s friend Azhar on Thursday.

Upon learning that his friend was assaulted, Faizal along with a group of persons came to Saveriyar Koil Street and questioned Devendran.

In the fracas, Prakash, a Plus Two student and a friend of Devendran, allegedly stabbed Faizal in his stomach. Police have named Prakash, Naveen, Dhinesh, and Devendran as the accused. The Woraiyur police have registered a case.
