Impersonator arrested

A personal driver of a Motor Vehicle Inspector, who allegedly collected money from drivers under the guise of carrying out checks, was arrested here on Friday. The police seized Rs. 3,100 cash from S. Prasad (25), a native of Paramethivelur taluk in Namakkal district. Prasad was engaged by a Motor Vehicle Inspector of Tiruchi West Regional Transport Office as her personal driver. He positioned himself near the ‘Y’ road close to Tiruchi – Chennai national highway in the city and impersonated as a public servant and collected money from drivers of goods carriers .
