Take all precautions to ensure that heart remains healthy even as one goes about the daily chore without stress, speakers emphasized at a meeting held under the auspices of Apollo Hospitals here on the occasion of World Heart Day on Saturday.
The endeavour sought to highlight the need to preserve a healthy heart.
Teams from Apollo Hospitals interacted on cardiac health management with members of Walkers’ Club and public near Periyar Arch on the Madurai Bypass Road and the visitors on the hospital premises itself.
Early morning exercise
The early morning exercise drew appreciation from walkers and public who exhibited eagerness in getting to know how to maintain a healthy heart.
More than 650 beneficiaries were screened for height, weight, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels, and their health stratum was profiled for their benefit.
Measures for control mechanism for the minimal risk category were detailed to those screened and classified under that category while the high risk group was apprised of the measures to be adopted to get back their heart to shape, according to Apollo Hospitals deputy general manager Samuel.
Mind relaxing measures
For normal individuals the importance of maintaining a healthy diet, breathing exercises and mind relaxing measures were explained.
While Apollo Hospitals was according priority to quality healthcare, the Chief Minister’s special health insurance scheme would take care of the economic assistance package to many deserving patients, he said.
