A head constable attached to the Airport Police Station sustained injuries when a two wheeler rider hit him and sped away at Anbil Nagar near Airport on Thursday.

Sources said that the incident occurred when Ravi (50), the head constable, was checking vehicles with a group of policemen.

On seeing three persons riding on a two-wheeler, he signalled the rider to stop it. However, he sped away after hitting Ravi down.

He suffered minor injuries and was admitted to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital.
