Fire broke out in a godown containing old plastic materials at Ariyamangalam here on Tuesday.
Thick smoke billowed from the godown as a result of the fire prompting the fire fighters to rush to the spot.
Fire fighters said they received an alert at around 7.15 a.m. and pressed into service fire tenders which were engaged in putting out fire at the Ariyamangalam dump yard.
No injury
There was no injury to anyone and the fire was extinguished by around 10 a.m. Fire fighters suspect that a bush near the godown may have been set on fire and this might have spread resulting in the old plastic materials catching fire.
