Farmer struck dead by lightning

A 40-year-old farmer died after he was struck by lightning at Thenathivayal village in the district on Thursday .

P. Muthu had taken out the livestock for grazing in a dry water body nearby when he was struck by lightning. He died on the spot.

The incident came to light after the farmer’s family members went in search of him as he failed to return home.

The Embal police has registered a case.
