The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) expects at least 60 teachers and educationists from Tiruchi district to appear for the examination this month-end meant to choose authors for the text books to be written under the uniform system of school education.
So far, 37 teachers have registered their names through the website www.pallikalvi.in for the examination to be held at the T.E. Thiagarajapillai Teacher Training Institute on the premises of K.A.P. Viswanatham Higher Secondary School in Thillai Nagar on October 31, according to K. Vaikundavasagan, DIET Principal.
The text books are to be prepared for standards I and VI based on the draft syllabus posted in www.pallikalvi.in. The examination will determine the style of writing and the presentation. Interested teachers from schools and colleges, and academicians can also register their candidacy for the examination on the spot by producing their identity proof, he said.
